Earth Day.

Letting nature take its turn on me.

Feeling the grass prickle my calves,

Poking its way through my clothes-

Demanding entrance to brush my skin.

Against my arms,

It prances around tentatively.

Moving through the small hairs,

As they fight for ground against one another.

To my head the grass gains no ground,

The hair there lies flat, not allowing any uncomfort.

And the breeze is the only winner today.

With it gaining access through the cloth that covers me,

With it blowing through my curls-

Through my lashes and across my lips.

My chest sinks deep with the Earth.

The sensation of being so close,

With something so real, and so alive, underneath me.

I relax into the Earths stomach,

And rest there blissfully in content purity.

"There are dreamers and there are realists in this world. You'd think the dreamers would find the dreamers and the realists would find the realists, but more often than not the opposite is true. You see, the dreamers need the realists to keep them from soaring too close to the sun. And the realists, well without the dreamers, they might not ever get off the ground."
