Earth is the best place to be

Earth is the best place to be A tapestry of cultures, wild and free, A thousand different faces by the sea. The forest floors are carpeted in green, Where sunlight dances on a beautiful scene, And ancient trees exhale the purest air, To nurture every creature thriving there. We sit within the universe's gentle embrace, The perfect distance from the sun’s bright face, To never freeze, but laugh and run and play, Washed in the golden light of every day. And on this ground, humanity can stand, With minds designed to cultivate the land, creating beauty, brick by brick, To shape a future bright and quick. And nobody can disagree, That earth was the best place to be. But look beneath the fading sky, now the rivers carry less each year, Exposing stones once hidden, dark and clear. Glaciers loosen from the mountainside, Their ancient memories dissolving with the tide as the ice begins to cry, Summer arrives smelling of smoke. Pine trees vanish where the wildfire spoke. Beneath the waves, the coral fades, Their colors fading into coral graves. The soil is cracked and the air is thick While a ticking clock echoes, sharp and quick. We started this disaster, fueled the flame, We are the architects who built the frame. We tore the safety net, we caused the stain, We cannot hide or deny the pain. Yet if our hands were capable of harm, They still possess the power to disarm. The clock is moving. Still, there is time to choose. Not every treasure has been left to lose. No single voice can stop the fall; this demands of us all Across all nations, side by side, we must stand up and turn the tide. For surely, no one can disagree: To keep earth as the best place to be, we must stand as one and be the caretakers we claim to be.
