Earth's embrace

One day I was above you, and I felt the sun and the breeze on my skin. The next I was within you, surrounded by your dirt but I wasn’t dirtied by it The same skin that blocked the elements just melts in your embrace Giving back what I borrowed from you since the day I was born The air that I ever breathed, the nutrients that come from you Passed through different life forms to be back to their very source. My selfish self turns into a selfless, soulless self, to grow the trees To feed the worms and to restore the balance to the soil, your soul Worms that tear me apart with love, I’m not going to waste Back to the womb that has and will bear me for an eternity more. So, hug me, Earth. Crush my bones into dust, then organic matter Then I shall become a part of you, and I shall be forever giving. Forever living, as billions of molecules that once belonged to a body.
