The Ease of Elevators

You can take the stairs

You can take them one by one

You can let your feet hit the wood

Or the concrete

Or the plastic

You can prepare for the stairs

You can buy the shoes

You can tie the strings

You can do the magic

You can tell them about your tricks

Your tied shoes

Your legs so fit

You can take the stairs

You can take them home

You can let them haunt you

Or you can leave them alone

But

There’s a natural ease to elevators

That’s been designed just for you

And sweet, unbeknownst, honey,

Don’t you know

You can take elevators too
