the easiest thing in the world

look:

it's easy

for me to sit here and say

to shout or you'll pay

with your guilt

with your regret

shout the words out

i say

what could go wrong

i say.

the answer, i'm afraid

is everything.

it's everything:

a boot to the ass,

a lowering of class,

a metaphorical punch to the face,

how dare you disgrace

us.

how dare you disgrace us,

how dare you love

who you love

because love

is conditional.

our love,

it's conditional.

do you see:

how hard it can be?

it was hard for me

too, hard for me

to open my mouth

to shout

to shout

to shout.

look:

it's easy

for me to sit here and say

just tell them.

just tell them:

"i'm gay."
