Eastern Hemisphere

He stood, soundless

looking at the other

side of the world

thinking to himself

How did I get here?

Just the night before he

was with his daughter and

wife, kicking a ball around

the freshly cut grass,

knowing he would miss

her 9th, birthday, the family

thanksgiving and Christmas.

Then in the night he

packed his clothes

not ready to leave

the place he had called home.

In the morning,

He awaits the pain that

will be inflicted

on the girls he loves.

As he leaves, he gives

the girls his love one

last time, he departs,

leaving the girls with empty

hearts.
