Eastern Skies

Wayne wore the suit of American heroes, Grew up in church, And was always strong. He did what was right, And tried not to do wrong But one day I promised not to speak about it One day I can never forget Sing, sing our melody Sing until we fall asleep Sing until the eastern sky turns blue I'll sing, sing until i see you It feels just like yesterday they called you away Not knowing where you'd be or if you would survive You wrote me letters everyday Promising you'd come home in one piece But one day I promised not to speak about it One day I can never forget Sing, sing our melody Sing until we fall asleep Sing until the eastern sky turns blue I'll sing, sing until i see you The blood you see everyday You thought it would never come your way You said you could handle it But you were wrong that was your blood spilled But one day I promised not to speak about it One day I can never forget Sing, sing our melody Sing until we fall asleep Sing until the eastern sky turns blue I'll sing, sing until i see you In the O.R. where you lay. They take off your uniform to see the damage made They hear the crinckle of paper in your pocket It's a song I'll always sing It's a song that you wrote for me Sing, sing our melody Sing until we fall asleep Sing until the eastern sky turns blue I'll sing, sing until i see you Sing, sing our melody Sing until we fall asleep Sing until the eastern sky turns blue I'll sing, sing until i see you
