Eat your words

She is always the first to answer.

Everybody knows that she knows the answer,

So why raise your hand and deprive others from a chance to learn?

She snickers under her breath when you answer wrong;

Her laugh eats at you,

We can't all be know it alls.

She really likes to pose her own questions,

As if the questions in English weren't enough.

The Sphinx yawns at your answers,

Laughs in front of everyone,

And targets her next victim.

Oedipus was new at school;

He walked into the Sphinxs’ path.

Everyone held their breath.

Social attack, She asked him to answer her riddle

He answered the riddle,

No hesitation.

She ate her words and her pride,

As she admitted defeat;

He answered correctly.
