Eating Disorder

They told you you were unworthy, fat, and not enough.

School was kind of tough and at times life was rough.

So, you fell into some habits that weren't very healthy

you thought your were being stealthy, but really it was just unhealthy.

Soon, your family became concerned and conversations filled with tension

but deep down inside you just appreciated the attention.

For once in your life you felt pride and satisfied

but down inside the person you once were had died.

This disease took everything you had, your family and your friends

that's when you decided it was time for it to end.

You admitted what you had done, but were afraid you'd be shunned

and when you weren't, you were stunned.

It was time to recover and come back better than ever

when asked if I'd go back to that place my answer is never.

Now, I share my story to help those like me

in hopes they find the courage to set themselves free.
