The Ebb and Flow

I want to be the ocean

the floor, the water, the fish

all at once.

I want to be the sunken ships

long abandoned

the hidden artifacts

I want to be all of Atlantis,

see the boats from the underside

I want to be the wave

and the tsunami and the

tide, the ebb and flow

I want to be angry and

tranquil at once

In a way we are all the ocean

we are a variety of things

we are contradictions

constantly ebbing and flowing

in high tide or low tide

crashing on the shore then

retreating into ourselves.
