Echoes

Whispered thoughts echo

echo

Throughout the warm and crowded room.

The thoughts mingling amongst one another

Remembering.

Feeling.

Thinking.

Whispering.

Echoing.

echoing.

The whispers turn to laughter,

Resembling bells.

Some high, some low

All creating melodies and harmonies

From the memories.

Echoing

echoing

Throughout the warm and thoughtful room.

The room becomes louder,

LOUDER,

Bouncing off the walls.

Echoing,

echoing,

Becoming deafening.

Melodious voices ringing

RINGING

All around,

Here and there and up and down

A never ending sound
Throughout the warm and joyous room.

The laughter turns to screaming,

Shrieking,

The thoughts yelling their beliefs.

Fighting.

Thinking.

Understanding.

Echoing,

echoing.

The harmonic and melodic tunes

Have turned dissonant,

Screeching their ideas over one another

Becoming louder,

LOUDER,

Painful.

Regretful.

Echoing,

echoing,

Throughout the warm and chaotic room.

The thoughts are silenced

By a pounding BANG outside the room;

Bringing in a new light,

A silver cylinder,

And a new ringing bell

That rings in sadness.

Pain.

Deciding.

Surrendering.

The bell stops its sad song,

Leaving only a crying hum that echoes,

echoes,

Throughout the room.
