Echoing Screams of Regret
I heard your screams in the dead of night,
not screams of pain,
nor screams of agony,
but screams of regret.
I followed the sound of with a deep regard,
with curiosity and anxiety.
I was led to the kitchen,
your screams how they echoed,
my screams echoing just as loud.
Why were we fighting?
Was this the point of no return?
Is this where I had lost not only me but you as well?
Your screams of regret,
how could I not hear them?
Your silent crying eyes,
how could they bound the room with such a noise that it was impossible to ignore?
My loneliness,
how could you fill the whole house but still have room for abandoned hope?
