ED

I met a friend named Ed

He whispered in my ear

I’ll make sure you never get fat

And that was my greatest fear

He held my hand through it all

He never left me

Just like I thought my friends did

He was the only one I could see

He trimmed all my edges

Got mad even if I just ate one bite

He pushed me out of the way

Whenever food was in sight

Pound by Pound

I wasted away

Crumbling at the seams

I still wanted him to stay

And never leave me

A lifeless life

Was what I was living

No energy to be found

Irritate and unforgiving

Is all I was now

Isolated and Sad

Was his biggest goal

Bones sticking out more than a tad

Making me miserable was his biggest role

Depression washed over me

Like a wave of sadness

Tear always blurred my eyes

I begged and pleaded inside for someone to stop the madness

I realized then

All he wanted was me dead

No longer around

Ending my life devoted to Ed

But now I’m fighting him

Making him weak

Gaining back my life

No longer will I be sleek

But more things matter

Hopefully I’ll beat Ed so to speak.
