Edgar mocks me, “Never More.”

I hope to live to see my riches
not a loved one from the past
what does it feel like to be appreciated
right here and right now

Workin for the money
Showing home empty handed
What am I supposed to do
what is one like me supposed to do in a time like this

I wrote these words in hopes you might understand
Not hard to comprehend if you try
I wrote this verse in hopes you would feel them
the feeling I live with inside

Birds outside my window
Calling to me for sure
When I answer back to them
Edgar mocks me “Never more.”

I wrote these words in hopes you might understand
Not hard to comprehend if you try
I wrote this verse in hopes you would feel them
the feeling I live with inside
