On the Edge

Being alone on the edge is something that I'm quite used to

A thousand times dealt with in the past

I know it's far from over for the future

A demon that can take hold of your life and shift you entirely off of course

A course that was yours

But not anymore

Now I'm on a road that has so many more bumps and holes

Where sometimes, there is no road

This demon makes you innocently believe that they're your best friend

But theses are just perfected lies that can come in anyshape or form

My best friend was the cold, sharp balde that slid across my soft, innocent skin

It makes you crave it

More and more

Until you can't take it anymore

Until you want it to end

The control it takes to not charge into a sinful urge

The control to control the pain that's put there

That never goes away

As I slide the urge across the sparkling, deep red blood comes

It doesn't stop

It takes the pain away, but only for a moment

After that moment, everything comes back

The lies

The fear

The hurt

The sin

So I do it again

Over and over

Maybe until I'm over

Or until I can't feel anything

The edge is something I'm used to

But what matters is the jump
