The Edge

I am on the edge of darkness. Drawing me in, pulling me deeper and deeper under the surface. As the light of life slowly fades, softly flickering. All my surrounds start to blend Melding into something unknown. The darkness has engulfed me. Floating in a vast depth of uncertainty. Where is the light, disappeared. No light left to pull me to the surface. This is the new life. A new reality. The only certainty The color is gone. No light to illuminate the possibilities, The beauty life once held. I reach out, but feel nothing. Cold. Empty. A shiver shakes my body. Truly alone. Trying to find footing. Slipping, why bother catching myself. Can’t find a way up. No direction to lead me. On my own road. Dark and cold. How to escape, I’m no longer sure I can. Maybe this is where I need to be. Settle into a new dimension, one that’s framed just for me.
