ED's Song
Night has gone,
as a new day dawns,
I reach for my phone to see.
If you are online,
Or did you reply,
To the numerous notes left by me.
I reach with my right hand,
For my phone on my night stand,
And I go to the app I need.
I flew in a rage,
As I look at your page,
For nothing was left there for me.
So, I tapped on my phone,
To send a message of vile tone,
But a thought hit me out of the blue.
I know for a fact,
You are not like that,
And so I put myself in your shoe.
My body starts to shiver,
My rage begins to dimmer,
As I was flooded with memories I kept suppressed.
Of being trapped in a small black box with low ceilings,
Filled with dark cold hard feelings,
That roots deep in your soul and have you depressed.
It makes your world jerk and shake,
Makes your heart starts to break,
And positivity seems as a chore.
So, you plastered on a fake smile,
Straighten your back; hold your head high,
An illusion of the person you were before.
Inside, the war wages on,
Your self-image turns to scorn,
In your head lies a mountain of self-doubt.
Your battles with the storm,
You face each and every morn,
Closes you in and shuts the whole world out.
Your friends don’t seem to matter,
So your demons make them scatter,
Your pain grows stronger each and every day.
What once was pleasure turns to bore,
Positivity goes out the door,
Your life is ripped to shreds in every way.
And I know it seems to annoy you,
Every time I do what I do,
And you wonder how and why I even care.
Its because I’m right there where you are,
Same demon, same battle, same scar,
So push me away all you want; I’ll still be here.
