Educating Our Educators

“You have state of the art equipment.

These laptops are your tools

To build a life of contentment.

That’s the promise of this school.”

Teachers have begun to implement

Technology as a rule

But if our resources are heaven sent

Then why am I feeling so incompetent?

Everyone knows that is it tough

To have great things to hold

Laziness is not the cuff

That is forcing students to fold

This obsession with passing tests is rough

And frankly, it’s getting old

No one is actually learning this stuff

It’s time to say that we’ve had enough!

Give me a period to get up and dance

Or play my favorite sport

I’m sick of staring at this screen in a trance

Through one class, two classes, three classes, four

Avoiding a few of our many AP grants

Does not mean that I will fall short

Board of education, please take a chance

Remove the excessive classes, and our lives will advance
