Educating..you're doing it wrong.
You’re paid to educate us,
Not let us just slip by.
Sure, right now we think it’s great,
But later on, we wonder “why?”.
You've given us no tools to use,
To make our dreams come true.
You've simply let us waste our time,
Just so that we would like you.
You’re given such power,
The ability to help create a star.
With just a nudge in the right direction,
You’d show us that we could go far.
But no, you turn your back on us,
“Obliviously” look the other way,
What if your action cause habits to form,
and we all begin to live just day by day?
What good could you have caused?
What lessons have we learned?
You've cheated us of our time,
And of the future for which we've yearned.
