Education

Today, many people throw away their education,

Taking for granted what is fought for in other places.

Detentions, suspensions and drop outs,

Seemingly careless people throwing away what others hold sacred.

We must ignite a change,

Spark a common feeling amongst the young adults of our nation

Get them to see the wonder in learning.

To identify with the characters in literature,

Help them in subjects that they struggle with,

Make them want to learn so that they may be the ones to open the eyes of the rest of the world.

Our nation must be the spark to ignite the fires of learning around the world.

We can show the world that education shouldn't be something to be won,

It should be freely given to better the citizens, the country and the world.

The cure for cancer, AIDs/HIV and other terminal or hindering diseases could be trapped in the mind of a child that disregarded their education,

Might be hiding among the thoughts of an uneducated child in another country that is unable to articulate these thuings.

To see the change, we must be the change.

It begins with us.
