The Educational Kettle

Bell rings, sit down

Read, write.

Repeat.

Repeat.

Information is poured into me

And I pour it right back onto your paper.

A constant cycle.

Repeat.

Whatever information I retain isn't test on.

I am dumb

I am unintelligent

Your tests measure what I can pour back to you

I can't pour back what you want from me

I am lazy

I don't apply myself

That's what they're all telling me.

They've been telling me for a long time.

Repeat.

He's smart, they say

He's drunk every weekend.

She's going to go so far, they say

The smoke rolls out her mouth.

When you stop pouring into them

They have nothing to pour back

When you stop asking me to pour back exactly what you want

I have the freedom to pour out into the world
