To the "Educator"
Dear “Educator,”
I want to learn.
The words of the video are bouncing off of my ears.
I can’t even stay awake long enough to decipher the topic.
You tell me to pay attention while you play solitaire on your lap top.
Your butt must be goo from sitting so long, getting paid to be lazy.
I want to be edified and inspired by what you have to say.
My mind should be sparking with realization and ideas.
You insist I learn by reading mechanically from this text book.
It puts information in my head that lasts long enough to take the test.
Memorizing is not learning and it never lasts.
I wish you would take a stand and make the words come to life.
Teach me something I’ll remember and can show off to my parents.
I want to remember things, and I want to be smarter.
I want to learn things that actually mean something.
You and your useless equations are wasting my time.
