Little eyes staring into yours for the answers

Little brains hungry for information about our world

Little hands holding yours in the classroom

Little voices calling your name

These are not just children; they are the future.

Who are you to tell me

To laugh at me

And say I won't get paid enough

That I could do so much better

I say I will.

And I can.

I can make our future better

Through their eyes, their brains, their hands, and their voices.

I will teach our next generation to love, live and laugh

And maybe one day

Some of them will be a teacher too, just like me.
