Educators
What kind of world do I live in
Where teachers,
Those who are supposed to help me
Cultivate success,
Only plant thistles in order to choke me out?
You "educators"
Fill our veins with trepidation
When all we are doing is trying,
Striving to get ahead.
You "educators",
Foolish men and women,
Who dare preach about bullies
As if you were saints,
End up being the very monsters
Whom you claim to disgust.
You Beasts
Who do as the devil,
Walking the halls "seeking someone to devour",
Inject fear into the minds of students
By striking down the innocent.
You watch me climb
And then drag me,
Screaming,
Back down the ladder
When I've gone too high for you to see.
You "educators",
Who only seek your paycheck
And get off on watching us fail,
Would love seeing me
Broken in the dirt.
However,
You "educators",
You hindrances to the youth,
Will not find me hiding,
Fleeing,
Or crying alone in a corner
Of this twisted plot of land called "the school system".
You Beasts of Tyranny
Will find me,
The Fighter,
Wearing my scars as a crest.
You will find me,
She who is not afraid
To fight through the twisted wilds
Which you Beasts inhabit,
And you will watch me come out
Bearing the scars of the Warrior
And the skins of you Beasts.
You will see me
(Without the fear I used to bear)
As Grendel must have seen
The Mighty Beowulf
Before slinking back to his pit to die.
You will watch as I stand
And help the student body rise up.
You "educators"
Will mourn your sick years of victory
As you watch me
Step out of Hell
Wearing Success and Glory as a sash and a banner.
