The Effects

forever coming back

always taking you in

with open arms

don’t think

theres anything

you could do

to make me

unwelcome you

i sit with hesitant breathes

late at night

after i hit the pipe

my mind consumed

with thoughts of you.

suffocating my body

like a cobra.

my drive to and from work

passes the spot

we fucked in your car

so i turn up the music

to silence the blood curdling

screams

of your absence in my ears.

my mom always asks

whats wrong with me

i cant tell her that

my mental issues

start and end with your name.

so i sit here waiting

thinking maybe this will be

the last time

you crash through my life

and destroy me.

half of me needing it to be the end

the other half starving for more.

I've never had enough of you,

and i still don't have enough.
