The Effects of Comparisons
Everyday am I not Judged or Compared?
Can I be acknowledged as Equal
Not as less than,
Not as good enough?
Is that too much to ask?
Do the words need to be Breathed?

Unspoken?
Concealed?
Would it be Too much to spare a person's feelings,
Shield their Heart from an unavoidable concept that people feel must be grasped?
To be placed as less than shouldn't affect me
So why does it?
Is it not the truth?
Shouldn't it be accepted as so?
Why then, do I find trouble in accepting it?
Or have I already done so?
Is that where the tears come from?
From the realization of accepting?
Epiphany.

The thoughts of creating a finish line
To halt the Motion of my feet
Finish the race I was destined to lose.
On my Terms
No more competition
Seems like a happy way to end.
I still go home with a Trophy
Not as Big
Not as Shiny
But a Trophy, nonetheless
Signifying the Battle,
The unHealable scars,
To stop competing is the only way to truly win
And Winning is...
