Eight
At eight years old,
I live in the moment.
I am not the most outgoing,
In fact I keep to myself.
But I love school and softball,
And I am very determined in both activities.
I live in the moment.
The world is huge to me,
It is filled with exploration opportunities.
I build forts
And I don't worry about the future.
I live in the moment.
I can't wait for fresh baked cookies
That smell like chocolate and sugar.
Or for my friends to come over and play.
I live in the moment.
What comes next does not matter.
In the moment
Is where I thrive at eight years old.
I don't worry or fret,
Everything is here and now,
In the moment.
