Might you be seen in dreams that strike deep fear

So now I take what peace I see in me

To heal what pain may be inside of thee.

As this wretched thing fights to see and hear.

From in my heart to outside where you know

What hate can do to everything in life

To turn it upside-down and fill with strife

And kill this mockingbird that I will show

No longer can sing life from deep in throat.

Once when they lived upon the seven seas,

The men did sow a seep as deep to freeze

As they did laugh and spite its lovely note.

Now I cannot believe that you are sweet

For through this sonnet I become too meek.
