Electrical Towers
I wonder where we would end up if
We only followed electrical towers when driving.
Would we reach a dead end?
Would we end up in some small town?
Would we end up in the big apple?
I'd like to find out.
But you....
You wonder what would happen if we drove together.
If I would finally open up because we've already had so many pointless conversations.
If I would tell you the reason I don't like human contact or talking to strangers.
If I would tell you the story of how I managed to lose both my smile and confidence at the same time.
If I would tell you what went on inside my head,
Besides following electrical towers for the rest of our lives.
Electrical towers carry power to places
To please the people that need the power to pray and play and pretend and practice and do whatever they need to proceed to live.
So if we follow the power,
We will end at the power.
But what type of power?
Now, I understand that electrical towers carry electricity to power lamps and refrigerators,
But I'm asking,
If we follow the power,
Will we end up gaining power ourselves?
If we follow a leader,
Do we gain from that leader?
Did Gandhi's people gain?
Did Mandela's people gain?
Do we gain from following?
Is that what you expected me to say
When you said "Penny for your thoughts"?
Because I'm not lying,
That is what I was thinking about,
Whether or not we gain from following,
And because I can't find a decent power to follow at the moment,
I decided to follow the best type of power for now.
So let's drive through corn fields and past skyscrapers to see where we will end up if we follow the electrical towers.
