Elegy
This tale is true, and it is mine. It tells
What most will remember of me. It begins
With my birth and how I came to be,
My acts of kindness and care for others
Represent who I am in this world.
Like a flower I blossomed into a tall,
Bright, young women. My deepest desires
Are to be known as a hero. I want to be
There when someone is in need. How a mother
Is with her child during their deepest nurturing
Moments. I want to be known as a hero, but not
Like firefighter or police officer, but like a bottle to
A baby. The bottle is comforting and warm, genuinely
With one purpose only, to soothe those in need.
Those that I leave behind will look back and miss
The effortless, eager, energy I radiated to everyone.
They will desire to reincarnate the everlasting-whirlpool
Of welcoming arms I offered out to all who encountered me.
