An Elegy to King Kong

Oh, King Kong! Grand Beast of the Jungle, You died today. You were too tall, And we too small, So we couldn’t see eye to eye. You knocked away our planes, And we shot you down, Now still you lay, There on the ground. For you were too different, and difference cannot stay So because you were different we sent you away. Now you lay so still and grey. Why did this happen? What would you say? I imagine it would be something like “Aaarrruuuggh”. And what can I say to explain why we acted this way? That by destroying diversity we create unity? For, are we really one, or is that just what we say? Oh, King Kong!
