Elements
Tears drop from an ashen gray face in the sky
A sparkling show of color
Reflecting, dancing, spinning toward the ground,
Pounding the earth in relentless sheets
Orange flares shoot up, hungry for everything, anything
Bright sparks fly, spreading it’s offspring of hunger
Boiling inside the core of the earth, pressure building
Then exploding toward the ash choked sky
Pure and fresh, it caresses the world
The wind blows with no mercy up here
It gives life and breath to everything on earth
As light as the sun, as clear as a drop of water
Green tendrils curl and shift, stretching towards the sun
Roots dug into the hard packed earth
Leaves are as tender as a child’s first breath
Doing anything to survive another day
