Elements of Emotion

I am wind, thunder, lighting, and wildfire.

I am wrath, I am rage.

I am a fist tearing down the face of the earth.

Buildings being torn from their foundations,

Families being spilt apart.

I am destruction, leaving nothing behind.

I am rain, cloudy skies, fog, and dreary days.

I am sadness, I am sorrow.

A thick blanket over the world.

Slowing people in their tracks.

Making the earth seem to spin in slow motion.

I am distress, making the tears flow.

I am sunshine, spring days, flowers, and sweet smelling grass.

I am happiness, I am joy.

The light at the end of the tunnel.

The optimistic side of people.

The stuff that makes the world go ‘round.

I am bliss, making the best of the worst.

I am humming bird wings beating, a gentle breeze, leaves spiraling down, and the dew on the morning grass.

I am humble, I am gentle.

Like the words of encouragement that spill from the mouths of people.

The pride that radiates from them.

But I am small, a tiny piece of the world.

I am me, the only thing I’ll ever be.
