The Elements of Engineering

I know this won't be easy,

And I'm not just talking about the poem,

But let me tell you about the elements of engineering.

It's quite endearing.

Help me out and show them

Chemistry is not breezy.

My upbringing was not the best

And I say this not to jest.

I would make the lives of my family,

That's what my degree will change for me.

Chemical engineering will be my major

Which will shoot me to things that are greater.

The obstacles in front of me

Do not deal with the difficulty of the task,

Neither the support of family and friend,

So much as my lack of money.

This is why I ask

For your help toward my journey's end.
