Elisa: an ode to a friend

Tiny yet intelligent

child is she

With her big blue backpack

that envelopes her.

Head high, her biggest strieds

I wish she wouldn't worry so much.

What goes on in that mind of hers?

during walks between classes

and mile runs on Tuesdays

Hidden by that pretty hair

What goes on in that mind?
