Embodying Life

I wake from my deep slumber Alarm sounding loudly I rub the crunchies out of my eyes I scratch my dry, dusty skin My hair is in stringy tendrils Half up but yet half down My eyes are red and sore As they adjust to the morning light In my stained painter's pajamas That drape loosely on my body I look upon my reflection A woman's body Sprinkled with brown freckles The sun's gift for enjoying nature A stomach that doesn't lay quite flat As a result of life's indulgences And crow's feet that run along blue eyes From years of laughter No amounts of clothes or makeup Could ever create true beauty Embodying life itself Is the only answer to true flawlessness
