Emergency Room

When you told me, I began to cry

Tears came running down my eyes

I couldn't stop them from seeping through

The thought of even losing you

I began thinking of you laying on the hospital bed

All the thoughts racing through my head

Thinking of you there made me weak

In the hospital, I felt numbness in my feet

Turning the corner knowing your room was near

Pacing the hallway I tried to banish the feeling of fear

I opened the door and appeared to stay strong

The doctor said we could not stay long

You opened your eyes, and I grabbed your hand

You didn't seem sad nor neither grand

Now hours waiting outside the emergency room

I hoped and prayed you would be well soon

The doctor began to speak with us, taking off his white gloves

To get to him we ran and shoved

He shared the news, a feeling relief went down my spine

Knowing that you were going to be fine
