Emotion

Beyond the exterior

below the surface

lays the heart

Fragile

full of love and laughter

happiness

has a presents

when sadness does not

warmth glows inside

like a soft light,

however few

there are times

when the soft glow of warmth disappears,

gone

the heart turns cold

surrendering,

while the bitter black nothingness

lurks at the edges

wating to creep forth
