Emotion
Ecclesiastes 11:10 New English Translation
10 Banish emotional stress from your mind.
and put away pain from your body;
for youth and the prime of life are fleeting.
Emotion
I think I like this subject for it seems all of me
It makes me act and to will, undergirding my reason
Now I will dissect this major part of me
When I’m through with it. I still won’t know my season.
Here we go!
Manifold feelings I naturally have flowing out my emotions.
If I let these direct spiritually for sure, I’ll be caught in carnality.
In the way I feel and act, and I will then call these feelings devotion.
And that my friend is not good for worship is based on Eternity
In priority and substance, it covers much more than the will and mind.
In human affairs, it seems to me that it occupies my concentration.
It focuses on my efforts and determination despite being blind.
Totally on feelings and emotion to by impulse in reactive desperation
Now let me analyze and take apart the “me” I call emotion.
Without going into depth of its each and every facet
I can start with the “happy” part of its balanced locomotion.
That keeps the way called “sanity” mostly stacked in my closet.
Joy, I guess it makes a good start, so happiness can follow.
Cheerfulness is next in line with excitement and elation.
Despondency and sorrow, which makes me feel so hollow
With grief, misery, and mourning, which don’t need stimulation
Melancholy and rejection are walking hand in hand.
Followed by confusion, anxiety, and miss-placed zeal
Oh! Brother, look at me. A lost leader of the band
Tuned by coldness and missing compassion’s soft appeal
Aspiration and covetousness hand-written in my desires
Kindness and preference standing in an embrace on the side
The internal expectation going down the sagging wire
Remorse and feeling sorry expanding deep into the night
Pride, fear, and hate carved into space by fire
Justifying everything because I just feel the way
All that befalls me and all that I acquire.
It is filtered by emotion, and that happens every day.
