Emotional Atheist

Location

Today I argued with a Catholic

about whether happiness exists.

He said happiness is an illusion,

a mirage upon the desert,

a perfect state of being that eludes us

because all we have is imperfection.

He said happiness cannot be found

in this world, and maybe even the next,

so it’s no use trying.

He said God is easy to believe in

because God exists.

He said some things you just need to have faith in.

I said he should pray to happiness sometime,

just to see how it feels.

Because some things you just need to have faith in.
