Emotional escape
Poetry started of with infatuation,
Expressing emotions for a girl and our situation.
Then fell in love and things changed,
My previous emotions had been rearranged.
Now I rhymed to show her what i was feeling,
This new emotion had me bouncing of the ceiling.
Through tough times we struggled and we battled,
I had to keep my emotions from being rattled.
Writing soon began to be a release,
That way my emotions could be at peace.
What had started off as a gift,
Was now used to give my emotions a lift.
Sadly I watched our love die,
My emotions were at an all time high.
Within all of this empty commotion,
I no longer wanted to share my emotion.
My writing began to dwindle and soon end,
Rhyming would heal my emotions and mend.
Now a poem is hardly produced,
My eagerness to write has reduced.
Nevertheless find comfort before,
This passion is something to restore.
I cannot wait to begin anew,
To once again let my emotions through.
