Emotions
there's a war inside me
raging and tearing
ripping and diseasing
every happy feeling i have.
there's a war inside me that,
even when i am asleep
continues to creep and crawl
into the corners of my memories.
and just when i feel
that the fires have burned down
and i can breathe again,
someone lights a match
and the war begins once more.
