Emotions

This is my empathy,

My, “I know how you feel,”

My attempt to console you.

But it won’t really matter because

I don’t know.

And there is my sympathy,

My, “Wow, that must suck,”

My trying to make you feel better.

But it wouldn’t really make a difference because

I don’t care.

But that is my apathy,

My, “Yeah, okay, whatever,”

My pushing you away.

But it just might work so

I regret it.

So here is my apology,

My, “Oh god, I am so sorry,”

My hoping you understand.

But you can’t because you’re just so oblivious to the fact that

I may just love you.
