Emotions Gone Awry

When your heart's still beating so you know you're alive
You're chest pulsating up and down like the slow steady beat of a drum
When you look in the mirror and gaze into your eyes
Seeing the vacant gaze they give back so you know you're not alive
There is great feeling in this moment
underneath the emotionless surface
They run wild through you, passing through the beating heart and the gazing eyes refusing to be caught, identified, or subdued
Like wild animals they roam
The kings of the jungle
Dictating your actions, thoughts, and beliefs
Like tyrants of a kingdom
Do you know how to take back control?
If so let me know
I've tried rebellion, submission, war, peaceful protest and have run out of options
