Empathy

These burdens are heavy… On top of being human I am overly sensitive and empathetic… But, what do these qualities really do for ME…? Wearing MY burdens on my shoulders hinders me from loving others. You see, MY sadness consumes me.. My brain tells me that MY pain is too time consuming and selfish to waste time on… But “loving” others in MY way makes ME prone to coming off as soft or weak, but in reality it is the complete opposite. Do you know how strong you have to be to shut off your OWN burdens, your own trauma and pain to LOVE someone else? Shut off the thoughts? Shutting off your REAL feelings, the ones that torture and taunt you to your core whenever you think about them too much.. Do you understand how hard it is to command your own afflictions to come to a HALT just to love someone else in THIER pain? I put my shit aside I don’t hide it or avoid it But, I set it aside for another day.. They say: “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today” But what if today is the day, that this soul..came looking for help, a caring spirit, a light, and I chose darkness? I would never forgive myself!!! So I fearlessly chose to LOVE even if it requires me to put myself off for today and try to pick myself back up tomorrow… Today is here, toda is now. But we’ll never know if there’s a tomorrow for us.. Unless we get there… I seize the moment, the now…. ——— Father God…help me.. guide me.. Speak to me.. I am listening..
