Empowered

Dear Dad,

It's hard to be angry at you knowing your past, but at the same time, that is why I'm angry at you.

I want to refuse to give you power over me by ignoring you but in some way, if  do that I am empowering you.

You were there but distant.

Loving yet hateful.

Ignorance is not bliss but a dagger into all who surrund you.

Wake up!

I hate the way you loved me but love the outcome.

Because of you and yet in spite of you I am strong.

I have the power over my life to refuse addiction and ignorance.

So thank you

For empowering me instead.
