Emptiness

I hide it all, but decide what to show,

Building up my walls and keeping you out,

I’m lost and there is nowhere left to go,

I feel dumb, there’s nothing to cry about.

Yet why do I feel so empty and sad,

I have everything I need right here,

I’ve been through heaven and hell, good and bad,

Things may not always seem as they appear.

Every time you talk to me I swear,

My heart’s trying to fly away from me,

It beats even faster, I wish you’d care,

When you do look at me what do you see?

My memories of you will carry on,

But the feelings I have for you are gone.
