Emptiness

Tall, skinny, man stand above me.

Struck with horror by another man,

Like thunder strikes a tree.

The tree will never be the same.

Ripped from my innocence.

Can’t wear white no more.

No love.

Nowhere to run.

It was unescapable.

I had to deal with it.

Clouds covered the sun.

No brightness.

Maybe that's why they didn't grow.

No marigolds.

The start to a new beginning

It's my fault

I planted it wrong.

It's my fault, the baby.

No sun.

No brightness.

No do over.
