This Emptiness I Feel...

This emptiness I feel... How bad I want a smile to adjust my heartbeat to a skip thump thump so effortlessly Conversation with old flings arouse me that second of swapping words with you as I think of never again having a chance with you I remember a time of romance with you damn I wish for another dance with you See I've gotten to the point where if I ever had a connection with you I'll text you to see where your heads at as you think he wants back in this bed bundle my thoughts in my head cause I only ever seek love That's why it hurts so much to have a crush and to be crushed by her cause that's a blind hit when you wear your heart outside your chest that is so mindless not every girl is interested in the kind approach But every girl gets interested in my mess ups or the awkward moments I can't recover from This emptiness I feel is due to 90's r&b which fooled me to believe that even for me love is a possibility I will see a woman I like in broad daylight and admire from afar scared to be turned down again I will date below my standard because I'm not my standards standard I will say I want a Queen and treat her less than that until she flexes queen qualities then wife a girl with no morals as she strips what makes me a King This emptiness I feel cannot be hidden I talk about it far to often I see the happiness of love I see the hurt the struggle the structure and downfall I see all of what I don't have and like a child I want it Make me cry for you does my weaknesses catch your eye or will you ignore that too and make me flex my pride If it was cuffing season then I didn't get caught all the evidence against me and they let me walk Metaphors comparing love to an incarceration but see hardened criminals get out and don't know how to take it and since I fell outta love I don't know how to adjust hoping someone picks me up but not just any old love this one has gotta stick this ones gotta be real when I give her the key I pray to god she never peeles
