"Empty"

I recall this one time at recess,

We had to pick teams for this game,

I off course am the last one,

Thinking to myself I will just got to whoever is that last to pick teams,

Yet he STOPS me and says,

“I pick the dirt!”

At that moment I went cold,

I lost my breath,

I couldn’t even cry,

I just collapsed on the grass.

I remember feeling so helpless,

Parents fighting at home,

Lights got shut off,

Water got shut off,

Yet here I am at this private school,

Begging for someone to accept me,

I felt like a burden,

 A wasted being,

I felt Empty!
